I really need to start writing stuff down by hand. What I’m thinking; what I’m feeling; the things I need to do (or, at the very least, feel an obligation to do); ideas for creative ventures; and the strange dreams I’ve been having lately.

Life, as it has the pesky tendency of doing, tends to get in the way of things. And, as of late, mine has been a bit chaotic, to the point where the act of putting pen to paper and making a simple list – which would solve some of problems and put my mind at ease – seems like a Sisyphean undertaking.

Is this a sign of depression? Anxiety? (I’m already on meds, for fuck’s sake!)

Actually, overwhelmed is probably the better-best word for how I’ve been feeling.

That said, just because the content dispersal at JonnyNumb dot com was a bit slow for the month of October, I have posts in various states of completion. For those who care, here are some teases:

  1. An account of a mini-vacation to Asbury Park, NJ to see one of my favorite bands;
  2. A pilgrimage to Philadelphia to meet one of my favorite comics artists; and
  3. A list of random and/or underrated horror movies (and not the usual crap #FilmTwitter insists is “underrated”)(but I guess one posts something like that at the beginning of the month…and throughout the month…not the end of the month)(but who cares if it’s posted after October? Fuck it!)

Some of these have been months in the making, and even though I really only need to apologize to myself for the finished article taking such a long road to its grand appearance, I don’t want to discount the folks who stroll on over to tune in to my opinions and experiences.

In any event: today was a good mail day. I received a package containing cEvin Key’s Brap and Forth Vol. 9, and another with the latest albums by Meg Myers and Poppy.

I just finished listening to the latter, and after I Disagree and Flux and now Zig, I can say that Poppy is one of the most wonderfully unpredictable musicians on my radar, never adhering to one particular genre or style.
